From Beatville:

The Paper Chase is eerie samples, chunky bass lines and entrancing angled guitars that add to lead singer/guitarist Congleton¹s desperation filled voice to make this album one of the best things I have ever heard. With that said, let me rant. ³Hide the Kitchen Knives² shatters all previous notions of what you thought rock is or can be, (Texas somehow has a knack for that.) It borders on a soundtrack to a horror movie that always has a self-defeating underlying melody that simply cannot be pigeonholed or even described, it¹s fucking genius. Relationships, mistrust, and anxiety attacks obviously prevail after hearing the whole disc, which by the way is most effective as whole pie, although slices are enough to scare the neighbor¹s kids out of your way on the neighborhood boulevard.
